This is an introductory course that is designed for the beginning shooter as well as anyone who may have some experience with a handgun but would like to learn more about the fundamentals in order to become more proficient with the use of a firearm. The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting provides a broad introduction to handguns and the various action types. The range portion of this course is primarily focused on practicing the fundamentals and marksmanship. Upon passing the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course, you will receive an NRA completion certificate. Some states recognize this certificate as proof of acceptable training for an application to carry a handgun. The successful completion of this course will also provide eligibility for the NRA Defensive Pistol course.
